How to Ensure A Successful Future With or WITHOUT College

Entrepreneurship offers teens the opportunity to learn, and more importantly implement, the skills necessary to be successful in all facets of life. They will graduate from The Young Business Mastermind with the tools & abilities to excel in school, career & business.
  • Effective Communication
  • Confidence to implement knowledge & make sound decisions
  • Ability to create tangible value while serving the community
  • Direction, purpose & pride of accomplishment
  • Responsibility & self-reliance
  • Willingness to push through failure to find success

Parents do you dread talking about your teen’s future plans?

If you’re struggling with your teenager’s lack of plan or direction… if you want them to find confidence & become self-reliant… if you expect college to “fix things” and provide a path to success… then this message is for you.

Here’s why…

Your teen absolutely CAN find their talents and direction, and achieve real measurable results building something that has tangible value now and offers legitimate security for the future. More importantly, when they join the Young Business Mastermind, you will both be able to proudly declare the path they are on and the purpose behind it!

Ignoring The Issue Will Just Make It Worse (and more expensive)

We have been conditioned to encourage our aimless teens to pursue college as a way to gain direction and ultimately find a secure career. For many parents, sending their teen to college with a makeshift plan is an acceptable way of kicking the proverbial can down the road in hopes that their teen will “figure it out”. But for most, this is a costly mistake.

  • Parents don’t understand that their teen not declaring a major or changing majors will have a significant cost in both time and tuition. Not to mention the increased likelihood of dropping out.
  • Parents mistakenly see college as a cure all, not realizing that only 4 out of 10 college students graduate within the first six years, and less than half of those graduates feel prepared for their future careers!*
*McGraw-Hill Future Workforce Survey 2018 & Think Impact Survey 2020

Sadly, even with a college degree, most students are still waiting for real life to begin. They look to society for cues and hope that an apartment and job will magically mold them into an adult.

Choosing A Different Path - An Alternative That Really Works

It’s not that college is inherently bad, but it is no longer the golden key to a successful career and job security. Motivated students are now able to take control of their learning and don’t have to wait until after college graduation (or even high school graduation) to build up a skill set that creates value and allows them to become self-reliant

Take Gideon for example. An entrepreneur from an early age, by the time he turned 16 Gideon had tried his hand at many business ventures, completed internships, and sought out mentors in multiple fields, with varying degrees of success. He wanted to build something but was not sure exactly which direction to go in.

Once he made the decision to join a mastermind group, his trajectory completely changed.
The focused teaching, mentorship, accountability, and community of other motivated entrepreneurs propelled him forward at a rapid pace. He learned the skills that he needed to be successful, regardless of the business he was in. He gained the confidence to implement his knowledge, to communicate effectively, and to provide value to clients that were often over three times his age. Most importantly Gideon developed a skill set that allows him to be self-sufficient.

His growing business allowed him the freedom to move across the country and set up shop in a city that both inspires him and allows him to be close to many of the people in his mastermind group… all BEFORE his 18th birthday!

“I firmly believe that you could shut down my business and take away all of my clients today, and tomorrow I’d be fine. I am confident in my skills and abilities. I might have to be an employee for a while, but I would build up a business again. Once you have a taste of creating value for yourself and others as an entrepreneur, you’ll never go back to trading hours for a wage.”

QUESTIONS YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS FREQUENTLY ASK ABOUT THE YOUNG BUSINESS MASTERMIND GROUP

What Is A Mastermind Group?
In the book Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill describes a mastermind as the “Coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose.” He says that when a group of minds come together, they essentially create an unseen, powerful force—a mastermind. In addition to incredible insight and perspective, a mastermind group provides support, accountability, and a community of similarly focused individuals.
How Does A Mastermind Group Work?
The Young Business Mastermind Group is intentionally small to foster a real sense of community & accountability. We meet for 90 minutes twice per month via Zoom & stay connected outside of meetings via Discourse or a dedicated Slack channel.

Teaching - the essential skills needed to be successful in any business
Progress Updates & Accountability Check-In - based on each entrepreneurs action plan & homework assignments
Entrepreneur Hot Seat - monthly rotation where entrepreneurs are able to present challenges, questions, goals, & achievements and allow the group to provide support, encouragement, insight, & honest growth oriented feedback
Why Should I Join A Mastermind Group?
We get caught up in our own minds and get overwhelmed easily. As it typically goes, we can see other people’s problems & solutions better than our own. This is because we are often too close and too invested in the scenario to take an objective look at our situation, and, more often than not our problems seem insurmountable.

Having a mastermind group allows you to have trusted, objective input into your problems and struggles that give you more perspective and ideas than you currently have. They’re trusted because you see them consistently and know they show up, they are also on a similar path as yourself and have very similar motivations.
Why Is There A Membership Cost? Couldn't I Get The Same Thing By Meeting       With A Few Friends On My Own?
Membership dues make the group real and tangible. Dues create an emotional buy-in from each individual member. Having “skin in the game” creates a sense of urgency, promotes action & follow through, and fosters a sense of community.

The monthly dues are enough of a stretch to make it feel painful each time you see that money leaving your bank account. This will further serve as motivation to take action, provide and seek accountability, and create a powerful camaraderie among the group. The value of the group becomes even more tangible when income from your new business is able to pay to your dues (within the first 3 months of membership)!
Can My Parents Pay My Membership Dues?
No
Group members must pay for their own membership (it's hard to be self-reliant if Mom & Dad are paying your way). We do not allow parents to pay your way because buy-in (and willingness to take action) are much higher when it is the blood, sweat, and tears from your labor that generates the money for membership dues.
How Will The Young Business Mastermind Help Me Build My Business?
Our goal is to help you be able to fully pay your membership dues from your business within 3 months of joining the group. How do we know that you will make enough money from your business by the third month? Simply put, we don't.
We can’t force you to do any of the work or flick a wand in the air and magically make it happen. The methods and principles we will teach are proven to work. The same methods that I (Gideon) used, and while they’re simple, they are not easy. The support, insight, and accountability you will receive from (and give to) the group will help to propel you forward. Ultimately this group will be an examination of your dedication and commitment to building something that provides real value to other people and that is scalable should you choose to scale it. If you put in the work you will find success.
What If I Am Not Sure What Type Of Business I Want To Start?
Not knowing the specific business you want to start is understandable and even normal. In fact, when left to our own devices many of us allow uncertainty or the inability to make a decision to keep us from moving forward. This is precisely why joining the Young Business Mastermind Group is so important! Within the first few weeks you will learn how to evaluate your skills and competencies and gain the confidence to implement this knowledge into making sound decisions. Most importantly you will utilize these new skills to take action!

We can't promise you’ll find the ONE thing you want to do for the rest of your life, but we will help you identify the path you’re supposed to be on and consistently work toward tangible goals that fast-track your life and entrepreneurial path. I (Gideon) have tried out four very different industries over the past six years, and will continue to explore as my skill set grows. I may not know “what I want to do for the rest of my life,” but what I do know is the direction I want to go in - and that is what really matters.
Meet The Founders Of The Young Business Mastermind Group

Gideon Harris

Hey, hey, hey! My name is Gideon Harris, and I’m a serial integrator.

I’m a young Christian business owner serving small businesses in helping them simplify and automate their organization for scaling! Some people call it magic, others call it cleaning up messy systems, but I like to think of it as pure, unadulterated genius.

In reality, it’s just walking through how companies work, reorganizing it, adding a couple of automating a couple of tasks here and there, then giving it back to them.

I was homeschooled along with my eight siblings (I’m the middle child) and was enveloped in business from the age of twelve with my parents starting a handcrafted lotion company that fixes dry skin. With my parents starting the company and doing it full time, it meant many of the early years it was all hands on deck to get products made, and orders shipped out, which meant a significant amount of our school education was done while working in the business.

Because I grew up working in the business (and completely taking on the operations department) I was blessed with a lot of knowledge in how to start and run a business.
Fast forward several years later, I started working for a small digital ghostwriting agency as a project manager where I quickly found out I could automate a lot of my work, cutting my hours down from twenty per month to less than three through automation. From there I started finding new clients and decided to move across the country from California to Tennessee at 17 years old.

Growing up, I’ve always had business ideas and business ventures I would explore, (the great majority of which were purely educational and never produced any real income) through a lot of reading, talking to mentors, and hands-on practice I quickly picked up a lot of extremely valuable skills that have greatly impacted where I’ve been able to take my business to where it is today!

One thing I found through all of my reading is that much of the advice was NOT applicable to me and was written to an older audience, and so, through trial and error, I found out what worked and didn’t work for where the stage of life I was in!

If I had to put my finger on one thing that propelled me forward the fastest, I would absolutely say being a part of Iron Sharpens Iron (a private paid Christian mastermind group) where I’ve been challenged by the other men in my group to remain consistent to one path and to think through decisions before just running after any shiny object that comes into vision.

At the time of this writing, I’m now 18 and lived here in Nashville for almost six months and I’m making more money from my business than I ever thought I would, paying a significant amount more than my monthly expenses.
